The participation in the AEI Student Design Competition provided immense experience on both a personal and professional level. The overall college experience is a transitional stage in life; a transition that prepares us intellectually, ethically, and professionally to start the next stage in our lives. The AEI Thesis design encapsulates each of these lessons to appropriately bring our education experience to a close. 

The overall process, though challenging, was extremely rewarding. The initial development of the team and prolonged management required detailed documentation and communication made only possible through the combined efforts of the team. We as a team developed valuable understanding in self sacrifice, time management, and interpersonal communication skills. Though these experiences and lessons are often difficult to teach; the competition excelled in providing the opportunity and tested the relationships through a stressful and time-driven design scenario.  

The building industry is based around the necessity of creating lasting links whether through our designs, our surroundings, or our teammates. The design competition challenged these aspects to better our abilities to create and understand the importance of these links. We at Genesis Design believe in our ability to create lasting relationships, create powerful designs, and create for the future.
